Shopping and Attending Appointments
We often find that many of our newer clients are concerned about their increased lack of mobility and the challenges of carrying out, for example, day to day shopping becomes much difficult than it used to be. Similarly, if ill health becomes more prevalent accessing NHS or private health appointments – especially in more recent times – can start to become a pretty daunting exercise.
Gabriel’s Angels understand that care isn’t always about the personal care aspect and that many people also require more day-to-day support when trying to get out and about - but don’t want to lose their independence.
So, whether you need assistance in the supermarket or whether you would like to stay at home whilst one of our carers completes the shopping, we can help on a regular or ad hoc basis. Our carers are able to pop to the corner shop for a few items or do a larger weekly / monthly shop from the supermarket if this is what you would prefer. Try to imagine Gabriel’s Angels as water coming out of a tap – you can use us as often or as little as you want – the important thing is that you are in control of what you want or need.
We can also assist you to write a shopping list, menu planning or even meal preparation after the shopping if you would like guidance and support in this area; similarly, we can help plan your access to health care services and assist with that.
Gabriel’s Angels primarily operate in the Wokingham and Camberley areas, but we can help in wider geographies if needed – the key thing is not to worry - but do get in touch with us so we can help you!
We’re here to help
During COVID-19 I have been unable to support my mum with her shopping, so I asked Gabriel’s Angels to step in after being recommended by a very good friend. What can I say, apart from they are visiting everyday now and doing mums shopping in addition – when I chat to mum, she is singing their praises and has been so grateful for their support during a difficult time.
